Being the difference; know the difference. Show up and be present. This wall means a lot to me for so many reasons. The years of hard work I put into my career achieving a dream to own a salon, that dream I never thought I could fulfill. I wasn’t happy saying I just did nails. I wanted to learn everything and extra. I wanted more from myself and my industry. I had this deep love for my industry that I happen to be a natural in, and I’m good with the public. I just needed to get there, and then the money part came in. Classes are $700 up to $4000. A pop easy! So, I wasn’t able to afford lessons until I worked for myself; I invested so many hours and money. This wall is over 30k that’s just this wall there is one in my other store too, that wall is almost the same amount in a much less time frame. Just cause you to learn something once doesn’t mean it hasn’t changed, and you should not learn it again. You may have missed something the first time, or they have new teachers, and once you learn something, you can then see things you once missed or couldn’t see cause you were late. There is always room to grow and learn more. Adding finesse never hurts!
Commitment to myself and my clients also shows women that they can do it too, I had nothing. Zero Dollars. I worked my ass off for years and saved saved saved. Sacrifices, long hours, not a ton of friends, I was committed to a new life and a more natural way of living. So I thought -COVID 19- business is just a lot manage sometimes. Companies have so many layers to them. There are so many factors. It’s never a straight line, but is life? Some of my clients know what I’ve been through with some staff. Then you have a million other things tugging at you, and the list never stops. It’s a humbling experience, and it’s not easy, but a path I chose every single day. It’s perfect character-building; I’ll leave it at that. 😂
Every time you learn something new, you somehow feel like you are starting over. You're a greenie again, cause in a way you are starting all over. Your hands are learning new techniques they’ve never done or worked in awkward positions, and you go back and change your existing techniques. Then, that brings uncertainty to the forefront and then figuring out how to incorporate this into your business. Business is complex. It’s constant and never stops. Even now, both my shops are closed due to the pandemic going on, Which I do think was a good idea at the time, but I’m working so much doing back end work that I never have the proper amount of time. So that's positive, but I will rather be doing my craft. Technology is a necessary 😈 evil that takes me forever to accomplish daily tasks and graphics? Oh vey
So this wall is a commitment, accomplishment, and success. It tells me a story- reminds me of my years. my experience the salons I’ve worked in, so here are my thoughts today. My experience through the years working in all high-end salons given so much knowledge and taught me to be very in tune with Woman’s desires. Giving me the experience and knowledge to know how you connect, the things you like, want, and how you like to feel. You know what feels right to YOU and reading your body language. I can see a client and feel things, having an inner knowing, different from the gut feeling. I’m very in tune with you. We are very in tune with you and your experience at Embellish U. Did you know that I am reiki certified, and I have my second Attunement- hmm 🤔 been wanting my 3rd for some time? Maybe that will be what’s next on my wall of success after this quarantine. Anyways- I never knew the “gift” I had. I’ve always loved what I did for work, and it was natural for me, but this was different something deeper in me. This feeling and the way I saw things from such a young age. I was different and didn’t know why. I’ve always dived into my work. It started at such a young age too. I started my nail biz when I was in 5th grade. Snuck nail polish into preschool would polish girls' nails on the tree stump at recess. I had “Bonnie Bell“ nail polish that would peel off, girls my age would remember this and the struggle for a good manicure 💅🏻! I even remember telling a young girl who had one damaged nail I couldn’t polish it; it was damaged. I mean preschool? Who does that? 😂 So, My work soothes me when I feel any type of way. It calms me. (Except when you don’t take care of a service I do- cough cough wash your lashes )oh, that’s right. We don’t have any!! Haha, funny! 🤬😉. I actually thought at one time; I was getting neuropathy in my hands and body. These tingles this energy radiating from me sometimes so strong it tickled me while I was working where the shock was so intense I had to remove my hands, or doing something in life that moved me and my emotions. I even went to a doctor to ask. Hey, Doc, do I have Neuropathy? Was a crazy was I not going to be able to work one day? All these crazy thoughts go through your mind. But THANK GOD They said I’m ok 🙂 You don’t have neuropathy. Maybe just crazy? 😆 It wasn’t until I was giving a facial one day, about eight years ago, where Embellish U started in my old apartment- my hot days😎 One of my client/friend/mother from a past life. (Long story)that I give facials too says to me (your hands are like magic- I transcend to another place when you touch me- do you know what reiki is? You have reiki, you're a natural) She then said, do you know what I mean? She had me at magic! I love magic; I’m a white witch🥰There is magic in the room. I was happy to hear I was a natural- at what I didn’t know. This reiki stuff. Then after talking deeper about it. I understood this energy more and was so excited to be a healer and bring healing to my world of beauty. It opened up a whole new world for me and Embellished U. I then delved into reiki- ridding myself of things and doing more live work. Then after seeing all these amazing techniques and tools that helped me shape myself into the woman I am now. I needed to give them to my clients. I needed to give more than a service I knew the gift I had, so it only was the natural progression to incorporate spirit with beauty. Beauty with a twist of zen. Learning how to use my body as a tool or a portal to be able to help people receive. Being more educated in something even if I’m a natural is very important to me. Having the instinct and then the education behind it is a hard combination to find. Learning new ways and receiving other artists' techniques and connecting with them is something I love and crave. That connection. My clients trust me. Trust me to bring the styles and techniques that work. Knowing what’s a “trend” and what’s “timeless” bringing you only the best trends. Trusting me to do business and work on you is a huge honor. Trusting that they are getting the service that they choose, using the proper products. I see this more then I like to admit. There are people paying top dollar for work and the salons are using different products, cheaper products then stated. This is a deceitful act. Trusting that you're getting exactly what you are paying for or more never less! There is a level of transparency. I believe you have to have with clients. I educate clients of the salon to know the difference and what to look for when shopping for beauty. Know what you're getting, and do these people know what they are doing? Are they certified with Multiple companies? I know for me I want the best and I don’t mind paying for the best. You telling me your best doesn’t work for me... show me!
